Web Developer

At Spinning Clock we are always looking for talented, enthusiastic individuals who share our love of creativity and innovation. Due to expansion within our web technology business we have a vacancy for an enthusiastic and talented Web Developer.

As part of a small team of developers, you will play a pivotal role in providing development and support for our cutting edge web solutions to our clients. You will work on a range of web based projects from developing our existing products to being responsible for the design and development of bespoke online management systems which will deliver significant value for our clients. Prior experience in Ruby on Rails is desirable but not essential - providing you can demonstrate your proficiency with another language and framework, such as J2EE or .Net.

The person we are looking for will:

  • Have at least 3 years commercial experience of web development in an Object Oriented language / framework
  • Be a perfectionist, always striving to ensure quality standards are met
  • Be an enthusiastic and energetic

The following are also desirable:

  • Knowledge of Object Oriented Design and Analysis, design patterns and principals of good design
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails (version 2)
  • An understanding of relational database design and implementation, particularly using MySQL5
  • Experience in communicating directly with clients
  • Experience with JavaScript, AJAX, XML and CSS

Event IT Support Technician

Due to expansion within our event management business a vacancy has arisen for a motivated individual to provide on-site support to some of our most prestigious clients at some of the biggest exhibitions and events in the UK.

This is not your typical event technician role: We provide intelligent digital solutions for events, and are looking for someone who can provide a personal service to our clients, giving them full confidence in the solutions we provide.

The person we are looking for will:

  • Be proactive, with excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Be professional, personable and confident in a client-facing environment
  • Share our love of creativity and innovation, always looking for new solutions for clients
  • Be able to work on own initiative to meet deadlines
  • Be willing to travel
  • Understand clients' needs and be willing to go that extra mile to exceed them
  • Have a good knowledge of computer networking and PC administration

Your key objectives will be:

  • To check, store and manage equipment before and after an event
  • To travel to and set up IT equipment at events
  • To provide technical support throughout the event
  • Co ordinate with Event support manager on regular basis to ensure the event is delivered to the highest quality standards
  • To work in the office to move into an IT Manager role (approximately 60% of this role will be based in our Nottingham office)
