Account Manager

Position: Permanent
Salary: £35 - 40k + commission + car + benefits

The role

As part of the new business team, you will work with the Sales Director to develop strategies to win new business, particularly within the private sector. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing a strategic plan for each client account
  • Being accountable for revenue growth within key accounts
  • Uncovering and winning new business
  • Creating and delivering compelling pitches and proposals
  • Ensuring that events delivered are in line with the account strategy
  • Converting new relationship opportunities into profitable, long-term client accounts

The successful candidate

You will:

  • Be a confident people person who understands how to develop long term, profitable relationships built on mutual trust
  • Have a natural ability to listen and understand client problems
  • Be reliable, goal focussed and used to working to targets
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a proven track record of developing and winning business
  • Have at least 3 years experience working in a business development role within the events industry, preferably the exhibition and conference markets
  • Have a positive, flexible attitude and enjoy working within a team
