I recently ventured over to Western USA, driving from San Francisco to Las Vegas and taking in some incredible sights along the way. We began our journey at the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge and then continued South through Yosemite and Sequoia national parks. The views over the mountains were beautiful and we spotted a couple of black bears too. We also saw the Giant Redwoods, which needless to say are huge! Following the tranquility of Sequoia, the crazy city of Hollywood was a shock to the system but we were unashamed tourists, visiting the Walk of Fame and Rodeo Drive. I also discovered I have the same size feet as Meryl Streep at Mann’s Chinese Theatre! Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon was our final destination before boarding our flight back to Britain and, fingers crossed, we’ve brought the sunshine back with us – even though our suitcases didn’t quite make it…

Our design team went off to see the final year Degree Show at Nottingham Trent Uni last night. Whilst on the hunt for some new up and coming mega-talented creatives we sampled a few free glasses of wine and checked out a massive range of different creative disciplines. Everything from Fine Art, Photography, Textile Design to Design for Film and Television, Theatre Design and Multimedia. There is some pretty spectacular and ‘courageous’ work down there and we’d highly recommend checking it out. You can find out more information from their website here.

We’re extremely excited to have moved into our new premises ‘The Loft’. Situated within Nottingham’s creative Lace Market area we now occupy the top 2 floors (and a mezzanine) of this beautiful redbrick building. A team of us spent the weekend moving our various boxes and computing power into the new space. We had some excellent professional help as well and they did a super-human job at moving some seriously heavy furniture up 3 floors. We didn’t fancy that.

Enticed by pizza and fizzy pop we also managed to get some additional help from old friends (thanks Oli!). We love the new Spinning Clock HQ and we think you will too. We look forward to welcoming you to ‘The Loft’ and giving you the guided tour soon…

Okay so she didn’t actually come in for a cup of tea but she did pay a visit to St Mary’s which is right outside our office windows. HRH was in to unveil a memorial to all the Nottingham Fire Fighters who died in active service. There was a fleet of firetrucks to greet her and some well-wishers who made quite an effort!
