Find out about what we got up to at PPExpo 2017 – exhibitors, industry seminars, new promotional products and more.
On Thursday we headed to the Promotional Product Expo 2017 – the self-proclaimed biggest and best promotional merchandise trade show in the UK. This year the two day show took place in Coventry’s Ricoh Arena and boasted 200 exhibitors.
We started the day being handed a goody bag of promotional products (naturally) and our PPE guide and collecting our badges. Visitor badges incorporated a scanable bar code that allowed exhibitors and visitors to swap information with ease.
Then we began touring the show’s 200 exhibitors! The exhibitors ranged from global companies such as PF Concept UK ltd and Senator to smaller specialists like the Trade Power Bank Company. The mixture of specialist brands was one of the stand-out highlights – and offered great opportunities to network.
The show was punctuated by seminars lead by industry leaders; from the CEO of PPExpo organisers Customer Focus, Martin Varley, to Ajay Desai from the Department for International Trade.
Over the course of the day visitors could attend talks on how not to lose business in 2017 by responding to online consumers shopping behaviors, industry news, and the buyer’s relationship with product price. We thought the seminar entitled ‘Accelerating global growth through e-Exporting’ was particularly insightful look at how to engage the online consumer wherever they are in the world.
Then we were back to browsing and networking with exhibitors. We discovered a plethora of new promotional items that caught our eye – the vast majority of which was new customisable tech.
Our product highlights included the Playbulb by Mipow, the small but powerful 2 in 1 charging cable key ring by German company Tradeconthor and the super sleek solar-powered charger by XD Design.
The PPExpo seems to be a most-go for networking and we can’t wait to see what next year holds.
