Events: Change4Life Experiential

Brief

Spinning Clock won the tender to provide NHS London with a range of experiential live events to promote the healthy eating and regular exercise campaign, Change4Life.

NHS London is the Strategic Health Authority (SHA) for the whole of the Greater London area – their aim was to engage the widest possible community audience at 11 major festivals across London. With an open brief, they were looking for ideas on how to engage their audience about how to live a healthier, longer life.

Solution

We wanted to challenge the audience, get them to face the facts of health and fitness head on, but show them how it can be fun and easy to approach. The creative team came up with garden and kitchen environments filled with interactive games, challenges and family quizzes designed to educate, inform and engage participants of all ages.

Children we asked to make pledges about swapping their snacks for healthier alternatives and a photography activity encouraged them to take their memories of the day home.

Cycle races gave parents their biggest challenge, asking them to race their children around a Change4Life Olympic stadium created by our motion graphics team, certainly produced a few red faces and future health promises!

Results

11 outdoor festivals, 25,000 peoples lives touched, 2,000 positive health pledges from children and a total cycle distance of the length and breadth of the UK.

Spinning Clock is now a partner to Change4Life, maintaining and managing all the experiential equipment free of charge in support of the Campaign. Look out for the experience in shopping centres in autumn 2011!
